(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State volleyball coach Laurie Felderman recently announced that Ace Sawadogo (Omaha, Neb.) signed her national letter of intent to join the Bobcats this fall.

Ace is the daughter of Lea and Mathieu Sawadogo. She graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School in Woodbridge, Va., in 2019. After high school she attended New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) in Hobbs, New Mexico and is transferring to become a Bobcat this fall.

In 2019, the 6-0 opposite had a hitting percentage of .106 and a blocking/set percentage of .61 with 54 total blocks in the Thunderbirds' inaugural volleyball season. NMJC did not play in 2020 due to the pandemic so Sawadogo will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Sawadogo plans on majoring in criminal justice – counseling at Peru State. In addition to athletic scholarship, Ace will receive the Corrections Leadership Scholarship.

Felderman noted, "Ace is a versatile hitter and has experience hitting in any position on the net. She will be a big block for us on the opposite, as well as a hitter we can move around in serve receive. We look forward to her vocal and energetic leadership on the court!"
