Nebraska City to Host Treestock Concert

Nebraska City is taking its annual Independence Day celebration to the next level this year with a free all-day concert on Saturday, July 3.

Nebraska City is taking its annual Independence Day celebration to the next level this year with a free all-day concert on Saturday, July 3. 

The concert – named Treestock – will start at 1 p.m. on the Central Avenue side of Steinhart Park and will feature four regional acts. Musicians include the 2020 International Blues Challenge  Champion Hector Anchondo and his band, Nebraska City favorite Mike Semrad & the River Hawks,  Honky Tonk guitar slinger Lucas Minor, and Nebraska folk sensation Jack Hotel. 

Treestock will also have a Beer Garden operated by the Lied Lodge at Arbor Day Farm, a food stand  by the Cornhusker Beef Company, and a cornhole tournament. Across the pedestrian bridge in the  south side of the park, Legion baseball games will be played at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. The Steinhart  Aquatic Center will be open regular hours of 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Nebraska City Jaycees will man  their concession stand beginning at 2 p.m. and will open their annual Ice Cream Social in Steinhart  Lodge at 6:30 p.m. The Ice Cream Social will feature special music by the Southeast Nebraska  Community Band at 7 p.m.  

Bethel Church at 2400 Central Avenue is hosting a Family Fun Day that Saturday, also starting at 1  p.m. Their event will feature three bounce houses (for kids and adults), food trucks, ice cold  watermelon, and a dunk tank.  

The Nebraska City Jaycees Fireworks show will cap off the evening at dusk.
