SIDNEY - Austin Lulf singled to center field to score Austin Wolfe in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Sidney Legion Baseball team defeated Rapid City, 4-3, in game one of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon. 

Sidney finished with six total hits. Wolfe and Ben Hashman each finished with two hits. Hashman had a double, an RBI and a run scored. 

Sidney pitching gave up seven hits to the Risers with six strikeouts and two walks.

Seth Schaefbauer led Rapid City at the plate, going 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

The Risers took the second game, 4-3. They got things moving in the second inning, when Carson Russell singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Callaway Jensen earned the victory on the mound, going six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out eight. 

Rapid City tallied 10 hits in the game. Jack Ammerman and Dane Sullivan each had three hits.

Sidney is now 2-7 this season. The Risers are 11-11. The two teams finish their three-game series at 11 a.m. Sunday at Sidney's Legion Field. The game will be carried on 98.7 FM, newschannelnebraska.com and the NCN app.
