Burwell students involved in fatal accident

TAYLOR, Neb. -- One person is dead and another is in serious condition after a car accident in central Nebraska.

In a message from Burwell Public Schools Wednesday, it was reported that two of the district's students were involved in a car accident at a highway junction in Taylor.

The school says senior Colton Dawe did not survive the accident and sophomore Austin Thompson is stable and alert at the Valley County Hospital in Ord.

Crisis team members are available at both the elementary and high school buildings in Burwell.
