Bobcats Women's Golf in 11th at TPC Deere Run Invitational
At the end of the first day of the TPC Deere Run Invitational in Silvis, Ill., the Peru State women's golf team found themselves in 11th place with a team total of 425.
(Peru, Neb.) – At the end of the first day of the TPC Deere Run Invitational in Silvis, Ill., the Peru State women's golf team found themselves in 11th place with a team total of 425.
The hosts, William Penn (Iowa), were the team leaders with a score of 341.
The rest of the first-day placings were third – Bellevue – 358; fourth – Augustana (S.D.) – 365; fifth – Central (Iowa) – 367; tied for sixth – Grand View (Iowa) and Jamestown (N.D.) – 392; eighth – William Penn B – 402; ninth – Culver-Stockton – 408; tenth – St. Ambrose (Iowa) – 417; 11th – Peru State – 425; 12th – Concordia (Wisc.) – 431; and 13th – Midland – 442.
Taylor Finke (Battle Creek) was Peru State's top golfer as she was tied for seventh with a round of 87 – just four strokes off the lead.
Vivian Brown (Wichita, Kan.) was in a tie for 25th with a score of 95 while Gretchen Tharp (Rock Port, Mo.) had a round of 119 and was in 65th.
Brooklyn Brenneis (Tekamah) shot a 124 and was 66th while Kayla Myers (Sidney, Iowa) was 69th with a 138. Allison Tichy (Bellevue) shot a 141 and was 70th.
The Bobcats will be hitting the tees on Tuesday to complete the second round of the tournament.
