The Western Trails Conference announced their conference MVPs and All-Conference selections for the Winter sports season. In wrestling, the conference selected two MVPs. Senior Christian Leonard of Bayard, who finished the season with a 39-2 record and a fourth-place finish in Class D at 170 pounds at the State Wrestling Championships. He shares MVP honors with Mitchell’s Nathan Coley who finished his senior season with a 33-3 record and a fourth-place medal at the State Wrestling Championships in Class C at 220 pounds.

In Girls Basketball, the 24-5 Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs garnered three All-Conference selections including the Girls Basketball MVP, Ruthie Loomis-Goltl. The 6’2” sophomore averaged 19.4 points a game and grabbed 8.1 rebounds per contest.

The 23-3 Bridgeport Bulldogs also dominated the Western Trails Conference All-Conference selections with four honorees. However, the league MVP was Mitchell’s Austin Thyne. The 6’0” junior led the Tigers to a 16-10 record by averaging 20.6 points per game while shooting 50% from the floor.
