Ponca heads back to State Title game with semifinal victory over BRLD

The Ponca Indians will once again play for the C2 State Championship after defeating BRLD on Thursday night.

LINCOLN - The Ponca Indians will once again play for the C2 State Championship after defeating BRLD on Thursday night.

The Indians fell behind in the first quarter but stormed back in the second, taking a 30-17 lead by halftime. Ponca was able to keep the Wolverines at bay throughout the second half, closing things out with a 55-37 victory.

The victory sends Ponca to the C2 State Championship game for the second straight year, where the Indians will try and win their first state championship against Crofton. BRLD will play in the C2 consolation game against Bridgeport.
