SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Scottsbluff Board of Education conducts its last interview in the search for a new school superintendent. Boyd Brown is up and he tells us his vision for the school district.

“I think there is a lot of good things going on in the district,” said Brown. “I think my job would be to come in and to continue those make sure that we’re doing the best we can with the career academies. The high school improving on the amount of mentorships, internships, paid internships and jobs students get. Helping them work with that partnering with the college to make sure we’re doing the best we can.”

Brown said he has much experience in the educational system in teaching and operations.

“I got a very diverse background I have been a superintendent for quite a few years and been in central office positions,” said Brown. “Prior to that on both the instruction side and the operation side for quite a few years. I have thirty years of experience in Campbell County School District, and I have had the opportunity to work in a lot of situations.”

“My experience will just lead me to be able to help the district in all the different things that they’re looking at moving forward,” said Brown. “I think the elementary plan of upgrading all their elementary schools is something I got great background in I have built twelve schools. In my career so far we’ve remodeled quite a few different schools I think I have the opportunity with that.”

“They have done a great job with increasing their graduation rate,” said Brown. “I am very interested the rigor and relevance that they have the academy. I was at the high school I think that it’s just a really great school district and felt like I wanted to have the opportunity to be the superintendent here.”
