WASHINGTON, D.C. - A Peetz High School Graduate, turned reporter in the Washington, D.C. area, made her TV debut Sunday morning.

Caitlynn Peetz is an Education and Development Reporter for the Bethesda Magazine, covering Maryland's largest school district in Montgomery County.

She joined Fox 5 DC program, "On the Hill" with Tom Fitzgerald, to discuss Montgomery County Public Schools' plans for reopening after being closed for nearly a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The nearly five-minute long interview covered the school district's reopening details, why the delay in reopening schools and the teacher union's concerns.

Montgomery County Public Schools has 163,000 students and 206 schools.

After graduating from Peetz High School in northeast Colorado, Peetz furthered her education (and volleyball career) at South Dakota State University.

While in high school, the Sidney, Neb. native served as a broadcast assistant at KSID Radio, writing and proofreading news releases for on-air and the station website. She also produced original, creative advertisements to be read on air. She served as a freelance writer for the Sterling Journal Advocate. 

Peetz was a Region Reporter for the Daily Republic newspaper in Mitchell, SD for over three years before moving to Washington, D.C. She covered the day-to-day happenings in a 17-county coverage area in southeastern South Dakota.
