BEATRICE – The Lower Big Blue Natural Resources District Board hopes to name a person to fill a vacancy on the board this month, at the NRD’s monthly meeting. Some applications have been received for a vacant Subdistrict 2 position.

NRD Manager Dave Clabaugh says the person selected would serve a district that covers the southwest quarter of Gage County and about half of Jefferson County. The vacancy arose when longtime NRD Board member Jim Damrow moved out of Subdistrict 2.

The term will expire in January, 2022. Three applicants have filed and two more persons have expressed interest in the board position.
Applicants for the Subdistrict 2 position must be in the NRD Office in Beatrice, by February 17th.

Candidates will be able to meet with the board to share their philosophies on conservation and to take questions.
It is the second vacancy the Lower Big Blue NRD has had to fill in recent months, because of a move by a member outside of a subdistrict.
