LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska wrestling will honor the late Christian Miller on Sunday by wearing custom made shoes. The Huskers host No. 18 Wisconsin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday.

Nebraska wrestling coach Mark Manning gave a passionate speech during practice earlier this week on what Miller meant to the team.

“His want to was big, and he loved this team,” Manning said in a social media post on Thursday.

Miller was killed in a car accident last November before the season started. He would have been a junior this year. He was a four-time state champion at Plainview High School where he compiled a 169-2 record.

Syracuse native Max Hughes, who won three high school state championships before competing at Iowa Western Community College, was also killed in the crash.

Nebraska is off to a 3-1 start to the season after wins against Northwestern and Maryland last weekend.
