Paxton Storms Past Creek Valley
The Paxton Tigers picked up a pair of pair of wins over Creek Valley on Thursday night in Chappell. The Lady Tigers benefited from a fast start for a 54-32 win over the Storm. Paxton’s boys team held the Storm to 10 first-half points and a 57-19 win .

The Paxton Tigers picked up a pair of pair of wins Thursday night at Creek Valley High School in Chappell. The Lady Tigers benefited from a fast start to improve to 5-6 on the season with a 54-32 win over the Storm. Paxton’s boys team held Creek Valley to just 10 first-half points on their way to a 57-19 win over the Storm.
Paxton got 6 first-quarter points from Adrian Eakins as the Lady Tigers raced to an 18-4 lead at the end of the opening period. Creek Valley’s Ella Whiting hit a pair of three-pointers in the second period to keep the Storm in the game heading into the locker room, down 16 at 27-11.
Whiting, and sophomore Ella Ningen each hit a three in the third quarter to rally the Storm back to cut the Tiger lead to 34-22. But Paxton outscored Creek Valley 20-10 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Creek Valley was led in scoring by freshman Ella Whiting with 11 points. Ella Ningen added 8 points for the Storm. Paxton had a pair of players reach double-figures, led by Jacelyn Jorgensen with 13 points, while Audery Holm added 10.
The Paxton Tiger boys held Creek Valley to single digits in every quarter on their way to a workman-like win over the Storm. Leading 16-4 after the first period, the Tigers went on a 23-6 run, led by Dane Storer’s 11 points in the second quarter, to blow the game open and extend the lead to 39-10 at half.
Storer added 8 more points in the third as the Tigers initiated the running clock late in the period. Neither team scored a field goal in the final period, combining to go 1 of 7 from the free throw line to close out the game.
Dane Storer’s 25 points paced the Tigers’ scoring, while Justin Ningen led the Storm with 6 points.
