The Sioux County Lady Warriors put together four solid quarters of action to defeat the Edgemont Moguls Saturday and improve to 7-2 on the year.

The early minutes of the contest were a back-and-forth affair, but the Warriors took control before the first quarter was out for a five-point advantage. They immediately set out to strengthen their lead in the second quarter when Kodie Rempp hit a trey and drew a foul for a four-point play and added a layup soon after. The Warriors netted 18, including 11 by Rempp, in the second quarter for a 34-18 lead at half-time. Sioux County’s Rachel Krein chipped in seven of the team’s 16 third quarter points, and the Warriors capped the game with another 14 points, including treys by Layla McCoy and Rempp.

Rempp had 16 on the night, followed by Kailey Klein with 13.

Boys: Edgemont blows out Sioux County

The Edgemont Moguls outpaced the Sioux County Warriors 52-20 Saturday, holding the Warriors to just five points in the first half.

Edgemont assembled an 11-2 run in the first quarter and held Sioux County to three in the second while netting 13 points themselves for a 24-5 lead at the break. The Warriors managed to find the net for nine points in the third, but allowed 18 by the Moguls, which kept the game out of reach as they entered the final eight minutes.

Sam Skavdahl led the Warriors with nine points.
