The Sidney Lady Raiders and Red Raiders went into Imperial on Friday night to battle undefeated Chase County, and came out with a pair of solid road wins. The Lady Raiders rallied in the second half for a 49-41 win and the Red Raiders pulled away from a shorthanded Longhorn team for a 70-54 win.

Chase County Lady Longhorns entered the game at 2-0, with three players averaging in double figures, led by sophomore Bryn McNair’s 18.5 points per game. Trailing at half, 18-16, the Lady Raiders poured in 20 third quarter points to take a 36-32 lead into the final period. Sidney never gave up that lead, building a 12-point advantage in the final stanza to pick up their third win of the year.

Senior Alexis Richmond finished with 16 points to lead the Longhorns. Bryn McNair was held to 4 of 18 shooting on the night to total 11 points.

Sidney was led by Karly Sylvester’s double-double. The 6’0” senior tossed in 10 points while grabbing 10 rebounds on the night. Alecca Campbell added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the Lady Raiders. Sidney owned the glass in the game, outrebounding the taller Longhorns 54-37.

In contrast, the Sidney Red Raiders got a quick 3-pointer from Zack Burke to start the game and never looked back, building a 20-point lead in the second half for a 70-54 win, handing the Chase County Longhorns their first loss of the season.
