The winter storm watch that the National Weather Service issued Friday for portions of western and north central Nebraska has been expanded to include northeast Colorado.
SIDNEY - The winter storm watch that the National Weather Service issued Friday for portions of western and north central Nebraska has been expanded to include northeast Colorado, and the rest of the panhandle and southeast Wyoming is now under a winter weather advisory.
Logan, Sedgwick, Phillips and Weld Counties in Colorado are included in the watch that begins Sunday morning and will last through late Sunday night. The NWS in Denver says heavy snow is possible, up to four to six inches, mainly along and east of Interstate 25.
Meanwhile, the weather service office in Cheyenne has placed Cheyenne, Kimball, Banner, Scotts Bluff, Morrill, Laramie and Goshen Counties in a winter weather advisory for snow from midnight Saturday night to 6 a.m. Monday. Travel will be impacted due to lower visibilities and snow covered roads.
Meteorologists says very cold temperatures are forecast Sunday into Monday with below zero wind chills.
Plan on slippery road conditions. If you are planning travel, allow extra time to reach your destination safely.
