LARAMIE, WY - The Mullen Fire burning in Southeast Wyoming continues to grow rapidly.

As of Monday morning, officials say the blaze has burned more over 151,711 acres, making it over 20,000 acres larger than the Cameron Peak Fire burning in northern Colorado, despite the Cameron Peak fire burning for over a month longer.

Last week, the Mullen Fire crossed to Wyoming-Colorado border.

The latest update provided by the U.S. Forest Service says the fire is now 14 percent contained, up from 11 percent in the previous report.

Evacuations have been ordered in Albany County in Wyoming and Jackson and Larimer counties in Colorado as a result of the fire. Multiple roads through the Medicine Bow National Forest are also shut down. You can get the latest on road closures here.

The FAA has put a restriction on the airspace over the fire to allow for firefighting aircraft and helicopters to have more room to operate. No civilian aircraft will be allowed in the area for the month of October.

Almost 1,100 firefighters are now working against the Mullen Fire. High winds and low relative humidity have placed the area in a Red Flag Warning until 7:00 p.m. Monday.

The Mullen Fire has been burning since September 17. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
