Rocket Volleyball Takes Tournament Title

The Rockets are now 13-1 on the season

FAIRBURY-The Syracuse Rockets volleyball team took to the road on Saturday and swept their way through the Fairbury Invite to take first place.  
 
In their first pool match of the day, the Rockets took on Sandy Creek and won the match 2-0(25-5, 25-13).  They Rockets had a balanced attack and were led in kills by Klayre Roberts(6), Lindsey Moss(5), Jessie Moss(5), Lily Vollerstsen(5) and Delainey Cast(3).  Defensively, they held Sandy Creek to a .000 hitting percentage.  In their next pool play match, they defeated Falls City 2-0(25-19, 26-24) to win their pool.   They were led in kills by Jessie Moss(13), Lily Vollertsen(7), Delainey Cast(5) and Klayre Roberts(5).  
 
The Rockets would then take on the winner of the other pool, the David City Scouts and come away with a 2-0(25-19, 25-15) victory to win the tournament.  The Rockets were led in kills by Jessie Moss(8) and Lindsey Moss(6).  The Rockets were also strong at the service line with 8 service aces, with Kennedy Stanley having 6 of those.  This is the Rockets 6th consecutive title in the Fairbury tournament.  
 
The Rockets traveled to Conestoga on Tuesday for a dual with the Cougars where Syracuse defeated the host Conestoga 3-0(25-13, 25-18, 25-15).  Lily Vollersten led the Rocket attack with 13 kills on the evening.  
 
The Rockets continued a busy week by hosting the Falls City Tigers and the Lourdes Central Catholic Knights in a triangular.  In the first match of the triangular Syracuse defeated Falls City 2-0(25-10, 25-12).  They were led in kills by Lindsey Moss and Delainey Cast with 9 each.   In their next match, Syracuse defeated Lourdes 2-0(25-13, 25-12) behind kills by Lily Vollertsen(7), Delainey Cast(5) and Jessie Moss(4).  In the other match of the triangular, Lourdes Central Catholic defeated Falls City 2-1(23-25, 25-17, 25-12).  
 
 
The Rockets are now 13-1 on the season and are next in action on Tuesday, Sept 29th when they travel to Palmyra to take on the Panthers, who are 10-4 on the season.
