First West Nebraska Truck Show to take place in Scotts Bluff County Fair Grounds

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - The first Western Nebraska Truck Show is coming to Scotts Bluff County this weekend.

The show offers beer, food, and Planet Bounce activities for the kids. All proceeds go toward making the local parks accessible to Scotts Bluff County residents in wheelchairs.

“Some of these clients have been in these services for 25 years, so they’ve been doing the same thing every day for 25 years or more. When we take them to the parks, the individuals that can walk around and enjoy the parks - we noticed that the individuals in wheelchairs, they get to watch. It really bothered me because I want them to have the best quality of life possible and I want them to be included," said Melinda Obiedo, the event organizer and creator.

The project focuses on fitting the parks with wheelchair-accessible swings.

The show starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27 at the Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds. For more information on the event, click here.
