Falls City Sacred Heart - The Irish came up just a game short of a state championship appearance as they lost 24-18 to Humphrey St. Francis in the Semifinals. Humphrey St. Francis went on to win the state championship game, 70-12. Head Coach Doug Goltz believes his 2019 team was the best team to not win the title.

Del Casteel, Kyle Bauman, Jack Fiegener, Jakob Jordan, Brogan Nachtigal, Derek Schawang, Jake Froeschl, Tyler Catlin, and Evan Keithley are all returning letter winners.

Coach Goltz expects his side to make another deep playoff run this year.

Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer - 2019 was Caleb Lempka’s first year as the head coach of HTRS. The Titans started the year with back-to-back wins but lost their last six games as they ended the season with under 20 players.

Aiden Worthey compiled 141 total tackles during the Titans 8 game season, enough to get him in the top 10 of any tackler in any class last year. He also rushed for 500 yards on the offensive side.

Worthey, Jayden McNealy, Donny Kostecka, Andy Stalder, Austin Herr, Nic Knudson, Jacob Joy, Huntery Frey all return after lettering last year. Knudson caught a total of 15 passes, including eight touchdowns. He returns as the Titans best big-play receiver.

HTRS hasn’t made the playoffs since 2011, but Coach Lempke is looking to end that streak this year. He expects his side to improve upon the 2-6 record from a year ago and push for the program’s first playoff berth in nearly a decade.

Sterling - The Jets faced a tough 2019 schedule while replacing six key seniors from the year before. Despite this, Brent Heusman’s team still managed a 5-4 record.

Sterling returns nine letterwinners in Seniors Sam Boldt, Derek Buss, Kaleb Masur, Juniors Kody Goracke, Garrett Hier, Andrew Richardson, Tanner McDonald, and Sophomores Carson McAuliffe and Trenton Peery.

Coach Heusman likes how much his kids have bought into the team this year, hoping for another successful season that ends with postseason action.
