HEBRON, NE — A southeast Nebraska man accused of stockpiling drugs and weapons will have a preliminary hearing in September.

59-year-old Robert Dankemeyer of Deshler appeared via WebEx in Thayer County Court on Monday. He elected to have a preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for September 3 at 1:00 p.m.

Dankemeyer was arrested on June 22 after authorities say he threatened people with a gun outside of a bar. Five days later, the Thayer County Sheriff’s Office searched his house and car and found one pound of meth, drug paraphernalia, drug manufacturing tools, at least nine guns, explosive materials and an armor vest.

The Sheriff's Office says one other person was arrested after officers raided the home. Authorities arranged for the children living there to move in with relatives.

Prosecutors say Dankemeyer’s FBI record shows he’s been convicted of at least seven felonies.

He faces three terroristic threats charges, six weapons charges and one drug charge.

Thayer County Judge Linda Bauer set bond at 10 percent of $100,000 after Dankemeyer’s arrest. She raised bond to $150,000 cash after authorities raided the house.

Dankemeyer is being held at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center in Lincoln. He is ordered to appear in person for the preliminary hearing.
