Panhandle Health Officials Provide Update on New Cases, Recoveries from Weekend

Panhandle Public Health officials gave the latest COVID-19 numbers during their daily briefing Monday.

Panhandle Public Health officials gave the latest COVID-19 numbers during their daily briefing Monday. 

13 new cases and 19 recoveries were announced. These numbers are from Friday through Monday afternoon. 

Nine of the cases are from Scotts Bluff County. Two of the cases are community spread, one is travel related and the rest are close contacts of a previously confirmed case. 

Two of the cases are from Morrill County and involve a man in his 30s and man in his 50s. Both are close contacts of a previously confirmed case. 

Kimball and Sheridan Counties each had one case confirmed Monday with both being close contacts. The Kimball County case is a woman in her 40s while the Sheridan County case involves a man in his 40s. 

Most of the new recoveries are from Morrill County, which had 12 residents deemed recovered over the weekend. 

Four from Scotts Bluff County, two from Kimball County and one from Cheyenne County were also deemed recovered.

Breakdown by County: 

Banner: 2 cases (1 active, 1 recovered)

Box Butte: 3 case (recovered)

Cheyenne: 20 cases (3 active, 17 recovered)

Dawes: 4 cases (2 active, 2 recovered)

Kimball: 13 cases (1 active, 12 recovered)

Morrill: 50 cases (24 active, 26 recovered)

Scotts Bluff: 225 cases (75 active, 147 recovered, 3 deaths)

Sheridan: 8 cases (active)

Sioux: 6 cases (recovered)
