Cozad pool opens amid coronavirus
While cities such as North Platte and Omaha have decided not to open their outdoor public swimming pools for now, swimming pools throughout Dawson County are starting to reopen amid coronavirus concerns.

COZAD, Neb. KNOP-TV While cities such as North Platte and Omaha have decided not to open their outdoor public swimming pools for now, swimming pools throughout Dawson County are starting to reopen amid coronavirus concerns.
Cozad opened their swimming pool to the public Tuesday under new restrictions imposed by Governor Pete Ricketts directive health measures.
"We all signed the waivers and masks are available if they so choose," said Cozad Pool Manager Julie Linn. "We have a lot of hand sanitizer and we do a lot of cleaning. We were ready to go."
"We followed the guidance of the governor and all of the directive health measures, that's kind of what we stuck to," said Cozad Mayor Marcus Kloepping. "We just tried to really sound out and visit with everybody we could to get all of the information. We also looked towards Lexington and Gothenburg and they are both going to open their outdoor pools. If we didn't open ours and they opened theirs, then our kids would just be traveling over there each day. So is it a right or wrong decision? We won't know that until this is all done."
City officials advise if your children are not feeling well that they stay home until they do before visiting the pool.
