Polis: Virus contingency plans key for schools reopening
Colorado’s governor says public schools will need to be flexible about reopening classroom instruction this fall by keeping their remote learning options available.
DENVER (AP) — Colorado’s governor says public schools will need to be flexible about reopening classroom instruction this fall by keeping their remote learning options available.
Gov. Jared Polis told the Board of Education on Monday that contingency planning for coronavirus outbreaks is key.
Colorado is gradually reopening its economy after a stay-at-home order helped slow the spread of the virus.
School districts are allowed to offer computer instruction this summer at facilities with proper distancing.
Polis said it's likely that schools reopen in a normal way. A classroom or school outbreak will require isolation of students and staff. Everyone will be tested before they can return.
