DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Ethics Commission is issuing a subpoena to former Gov. John Hickenlooper as part of a dispute over whether he should testify remotely or in person on a complaint from Republicans.
The commission for months has been considering an ethics complaint over Hickenlooper's use of private airplanes as governor. He's the leading Democratic candidate in Colorado's U.S. Senate race.
The commission was scheduled to hear Hickenlooper's case in March but had to delay its hearing due to the coronavirus. It wants to hold a virtual hearing Thursday.
Hickenlooper refuses to participate, saying he wants to testify in person.
