OMAHA - Protests in Omaha remained peaceful for the majority of the evening.

A few hundred people gathered at the intersection of 13th and Harney street, about half a block from where 22-year-old James Scurlock was shot and killed during protests Saturday night.

The group chanted Justice for James, along with calls for an end to police brutality, and echos of Black Lives Matter.

Protesters did not interact with Police on the scene much. There were some protesters degrading the officers, while others exchanged handshakes and pleasantries.

Things started to escalate in the 8: hour when the city wide curfew went into effect causing about 40 minutes of tension between protesters and police, standing face to face, just a few feet a part.

Around 8:40 officers made their first arrest, which stirred up the crowd and made this scene.
