Carl Christensen Bee's Best

NEBRASKA CITY-Introducing Carl Christensen as this month’s Bee’s Best.  Carl is nominated for his work with the Veterans of Otoe County

Carl has single handedly, as a volunteer driven almost 100% of the veterans in Otoe County not capable of driving to and from medical appointments. Carl is also the post commander for the American Legion Post 8, and is involved with putting up, and taking down flags for each holiday.  Not to mention participating in numerous holiday parades, and events.

Carl has also mentored kids that struggle with addiction, and says it’s just part of his nature to help out.

“I just have always had that in me I think, just to help different people whenever they need help. I try to help kids on drugs.  Last year I had one come up to me during the Fourth of July, before they started the show, and thanked me for helping her at the time she needed some help.   That’s what I try to do with them; if they want to help themselves get going, I’ll help them.  A couple of them have, that helps make it worth it all the more. When somebody comes and tells you, and thanks you for helping them out.”

Congratulations Carl on being named Bee’s Best, and a very special thank you for all you do in the community.

Carl received a bouquet of flowers from First Class Flowers and a gift certificate from Little Ted’s Pub and Grill as thank you for his generous work.
