Woman arrested for robbery after incident Tuesday

LINCOLN - Lincoln Police arrested Jeanette Ruel, 40, for robbery following an incident, south of downtown, this week.

On Tuesday just after 3 p.m., Lincoln police officers were dispatched to a home on J Street, near 19th Street in downtown, for a report of an assault.

Neighbors told police they could hear yelling and a fight.

LPD made contact with a 61-year old woman who had injuries on her face.

The woman told responding officers that Ruel showed up at her home and started yelling, hitting and kicking her.

She told officers that Ruel wouldn't let her leave and that Ruel eventually stole her phone and keys before leaving.

LPD located Ruel near 25th and D Streets with the stolen property and what appeared to be a clump of the victim's hair in her pocket.

The victim went to hospital with non life threatening injuries. LPD said Ruel arrested for robbery.
