SIDNEY - The Sidney Outdoor Aquatic Center will not open in May or June this year due to COVID-19 concerns. That's according to a release from the City of Sidney pool.

There will be no swimming lessons this summer. They will resume in 2021.

City staff continue to monitor the latest novel coronavirus information and hope to open "at some point in July."

Once given the all-clear, it will take facility staff 10-15 days to clean, acquire chemicals, fill, treat and heat pools.

If the pool is able to open this summer, no concessions will be served. Officials say patrons will be able to bring their own drinks, but no food will be allowed.
