SIDNEY - Outdoor burning is not recommended Tuesday due to a combination of strong and gusty winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures.

The National Weather Service has placed three-quarters of Nebraska - from Kimball to Kearney and Oneill to Imperial - in a red flag warning until Tuesday evening. Northeast Colorado is also included in the warning.

The weather service says winds will be sustained at 25-35 MPH, with wind gusts up to 45-50 MPH. Humidity is expected to be at 15-19 percent. No thunderstorms are in the forecast.

A red flag warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
