Bloomfield Schools adjusts to remote education
School districts across the state continue to adjust to offering their services remotely.

BLOOMFIELD, NE - School districts across the state continue to adjust to offering their services remotely. For Bloomfield Schools in northeast Nebraska, that means loading up vans to distribute lunch to students on six different delivery routes. Elementary School Principal Tabitha Gilsdorf says they hand out 170 meals per day, going as far away as Center and Lindy.
Gilsdorf says teaching remotely has been a challenge and it has her concerned for the fall.
"We're worried about what the kids have missed from not seeing the face-to-face interaction for the fourth quarter," Gilsdorf said. "But we're hopeful that they've kept up with doing their packets and Zooming with their teachers and that will keep them where they need to be so we can start in the fall where we need to be."
Gilsdorf says the toughest part of the new system for staff is not seeing the students.
