MADISON - With primary elections approaching, there are some important deadlines on the way that voters should be aware of.

The deadline to apply for a ballot by mail if a person is not a registered voter is this Friday, April 27th. Beyond that, the overall deadline to apply for a ballot by mail is Friday, May 1st.

Madison County Clerk Anne Pruss is encouraging voters in the county to vote by mail this year to avoid any possible COVID-19 complications. Pruss says applications to receive those ballots by mail are being accepted through email, fax, or by mail as well.

The early voting application can be found at the following link: https://www.madisoncountyne.com/county-offices/elections/, and is under the "Early Voting" category.
