UPDATE:

COLUMBUS - One person is in jail after a car accident in Columbus following a pursuit Tuesday afternoon.

In a news release, the Platte County Sheriff's Office said it started when deputies dispatched to the Duncan area for a Chevy Silverado that was reportedly stolen out of Nance County.  They said the driver refused to pull over when deputies tried to stop the vehicle while traveling eastbound on Highway 30, southwest of town.

The sheriff's office said the driver turned north on Highway 81, eventually crashing into an eastbound vehicle at the intersection of 13th Street and 33rd Avenue in Columbus.

Authorities said they arrested the driver, 22-year-old Alexis Maneely of Duncan.  They said she faces charges of possession of stolen property, flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

The sheriff's office said they also arrested a passenger in the stolen Silverado, 18-year-old Torrien Harris of Lincoln, on a Lancaster County warrant and a charge of false reporting.  They said Columbus Rescue transported Harris to Columbus Community Hospital as a precautionary measure.
