Authorities say woman found with counterfeit bills

PILGER, NE - A northeast Nebraska woman faces charges after authorities say they found her with counterfeit bills.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says his office had contact with 37-year-old Rachael Emeterio of Bancroft around 4:00 Tuesday afternoon. He says deputies found here with five counterfeit $100 bills that looked authentic to the naked eye.  Unger says deputies also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Emeterio faces a criminal possession of a forged instrument charge in addition to marijuana charges.

It is not clear if authorities suspect that any counterfeit bills are circulating in the community.
