Kimball Health Services employee one of the confirmed cases

KIMBALL, NE - A Kimball Health Services administrative employee is one of the six confirmed positive cases in Kimball County, the hospital announced on its website. 

Panhandle Public Health District Director Kim Engel says the person works on an off-campus building, not in the main building.

They are not involved in direct patient care. 

"KHS has been implementing strategies over the last month to mitigate the risk of possible exposures," Panhandle Public health said in a statement. "This case does not change how they will be doing work, just enforces why they have been taking the precautions they have been."

Much like with any other case identified close contacts will be asked to monitor symptoms and self-quarantine. 

There are nine confirmed cases in the Panhandle as of Friday morning: Six in Kimball County and three in Scotts Bluff County.
