GRAND ISLAND - Grand Island Senior High's graduation ceremony is on as planned but will not take place in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grand Island Public Schools made a video announcement to students and parents on Wednesday evening that the ceremony will still take place on May 17th however it will now be live streamed.

School officials say Diplomas, caps, gowns, and programs will be mailed to each students' home a week before graduation.

During the ceremony each senior will have his or her name read while having their picture shown.
