Roddy, who will be graduating in May from Minnesota State Moorhead (MSUM) with a bachelor of fine arts, will begin his employment on Sunday, March 8, the day of the first Bobcat dance team tryouts.

The Coon Rapids, Minn., native has been a member of the MSUM Dragon Dance Team for three years. His team placed tenth in the UDA Nationals Open Pom and 11th in Open Jazz this year.

In addition to being a part of the dance team, Roddy has participated in theatre at MSUM and has been involved with numerous student organizations where he has served as president and treasurer. He has taken part in the Kennedy Center Actors Theatre Conference Midwest Region Dance Intensive for two years.

Roddy has experience as a dance instructor as he has worked for both the Red River Dance Company of West Fargo, N.D., and the Trollwood Performing Arts School in Moorhead. He has taught jazz, hip hop, contemporary dance, and has done choreography for dance routines.

Recently, MSUM featured Roddy on Youtube talking about his time at the university. It can be viewed at https://yhoo.it/2ToQqbS.

Roddy is excited to get started with the Bobcat dance program. He commented, "Having the opportunity to be Peru State's first dance coach is an absolute honor. The PSC athletics department is one of the most supportive I have seen in the collegiate world and I know that they will help this team soar to new heights throughout this season and for years to come."
