The police department first received a complaint about possible counterfeit bills on Wednesday.
In a Facebook post, Sidney police say businesses and citizens should "exercise all diligence when accepting cash."
Authorities say if you have questions or feel you have taken a suspicious bill, you should contact the Sidney Police Department at 308-254-5515.
