COLUMBUS - Columbus police have arrested a man for theft and drug possession.

It happened on Tuesday.  CPD said it started when someone accused 28-year-old Zachary Prokupek of stealing their prescription medication.

Police said officers learned Prokupek had an active warrant for shoplifting, which they arrested him for when they found him.

A police spokesman said officers then searched Prokupek's backpack, finding a container with trace amounts of suspected meth, a pipe and Xanax.

In addition to his arrest warrant, Prokupek faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession or use of drug paraphernalia.

He's set to appear in court on Jan. 30.
