Columbus police arrest man for drugs while serving warrant
CPD said it started when someone accused Prokupek of stealing their prescription medication.
COLUMBUS - Columbus police have arrested a man for theft and drug possession.
It happened on Tuesday. CPD said it started when someone accused 28-year-old Zachary Prokupek of stealing their prescription medication.
Police said officers learned Prokupek had an active warrant for shoplifting, which they arrested him for when they found him.
A police spokesman said officers then searched Prokupek's backpack, finding a container with trace amounts of suspected meth, a pipe and Xanax.
In addition to his arrest warrant, Prokupek faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession or use of drug paraphernalia.
He's set to appear in court on Jan. 30.
