LINCOLN, NE - The assistant coaching carousel continues for the Nebraska football team.

The Nebraska football program announced today that offensive coordinator/receivers coach Troy Walters and the Huskers have mutually agreed to part ways.

“Troy has been a valued member of our coaching staff for the past four years,” head coach Scott Frost said. “Troy is a good mentor for his players, provides great energy on and off the field, and carries himself with a presence off the field that will be missed. I want to thank him for his work on our coaching staff, and wish him and his family all the best going forward.”

Walters was on the Nebraska coaching staff for the past two seasons, and had served on Scott Frost’s coaching staffs for the past four years overall. Last season, the Huskers averaged 28 points and 415 yards per game last season.

The announcement comes one day after the team announced Mike Dawson would return to the team to coach the outside linebackers. Former assistant coach Jovan Dewitt left the team earlier this month for North Carolina. Nebraska currently does not have a special teams coordinator listed on their coaches webpage.
