BEATRICE – A Gage County District Judge has revoked the probation of a Beatrice woman, and ordered a county jail term.
32-year-old Julie Dobesh was sentenced to concurrent 90-day jail terms on the original charges of assault of an officer with bodily fluid. Dobesh had been placed on probation for the conviction in September of 2018. Judge Rick Schreiner said by law, he could not grant a request for mental health treatment under the two misdemeanors Dobesh was convicted of.

"What's most disturbing about the pre-disposition report is that despite intervention, and having been drug out of your house by members of the rescue squad because you were huffing and unconscious, you continued to huff. Even since I set a bond so you could be released on holidays. You were very concerned about that. You left, and continued to do exactly what brought you before the court in that circumstance".

With six days of credit for time served, Dobesh could be eligible for release in about 47 days.

In a separate case Tuesday, 47-year-old Jason Frerichs, of Beatrice was sentenced to a four-year term of probation on convictions of aiding and abetting drug distribution, and attempted distribution. Judge Schreiner told Frerichs, "I will tell you that I like to enter probation orders one time, and then see them successful on probation. I don't like to have to supervise individuals on probation or see them back in my court. So, keep in your mind what happened to the co-defendant in this matter, should you think about violating your probation".

Co-defendant Darla Little was sentenced last month to serve a 3-to-5-year prison term.

Frerichs also was fined $100 and ordered to pay court costs of $148.

Also in Gage County District Court Tuesday, the judge sentenced 44-year-old John Morstorf, of Salina, Kansas to a three-year probation term for drug possession. He was already serving a Kansas probation sentence for a similar conviction. Schreiner listed an extensive record Morstorf has racked up.

"You've been arrested 24 times starting at the age of 18...you have eight felony arrests, two jail sentences, four prison sentences, three terms of probation...and two times your probation was revoked".

Judge Schreiner told Morstorf he was placing him on probation, only because he doesn’t want him in the State of Nebraska. The other option was prison. The sentence includes specialized substance abuse supervision and payment of $141 in court costs.
