NORFOLK, NE - If you bought popcorn from Joaquin a couple months ago you’re not alone. The second-grader from Pack 165 in Norfolk sold over $10,000 of the stuff during the Boy Scouts of America's annual fundraiser.

Joaquin’s success was enough to earn him the top-selling spot in the Mid-America Council of the Boy Scouts organization. According to the council’s website, that includes over 18,000 scouts across 58 counties in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. His strategy was to sell in front of stores and found particular success on Husker game days.

As part of his celebration, Joaquin got to throw a pie at someone of his choosing. He chose Norfolk Mayor Josh Moenning.
