Flooding reported due to heavy rain and frozen ground
LINCOLN - That heavy rain and frozen ground produced low land and urban flooding in parts of Lancaster County.
Flood watches were declared for Butler, Cass, Dodge, Jefferson, Gage, and Saline counties Saturday. Observations and radar estimates indicate between one and a half and two inches of rain from Crete through Lincoln to west of Tekamah.
The good news is the weather service has backed off their original projections for flooding along the Missouri River this week. As of Monday morning, no portions of the Missouri are expected to get back up above flood stage.
