Updated: Crash Near Greenwood Kills Three, Injures Several

GREENWOOD - A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 Sunday morning has claimed the lives of three people and injured several others.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, reports of a crash were received around 11:12 AM. Four vehicles were involved in the crash that took place at mile marker 422 near Greenwood.

The NSP says two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and five others were transported to Omaha area hospitals. Two of the injured parties were transported in critical condition, and one of those patients has since passed away.

The names and ages of those involved are being withheld at this time out of respect for the family notification process. The NSP says all three fatalities were from the same vehicle, as well as three of the injured parties.

The crash investigation is ongoing, and the NSP says additional information will be released when appropriate.
