PANHANDLE - Multiple power companies in the panhandle are dealing with outages due to Saturday's winter storm.
In a Facebook post, Dawson Public Power District says some linemen and trucks will be heading west to assist Wheatbelt Public Power District in Sidney. According to DPPD, around 70 poles are down in the service area of WPPD.
Custer Public Power District also reported several power outages on Saturday. Crews were working all day Saturday to get power back on, and will continue to work on the outages Sunday morning.
CPPD crews were called in at 5:00 PM Saturday due to extreme weather conditions, and are expected to return on Sunday as soon as weather conditions allow. The outages are being attributed to the heavy amounts of snow, wind, and ice that Custer County has seen so far this weekend.
