SARPY COUNTY - Two people are in the hospital after a two-vehicle accident in Sarpy County Tuesday morning.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office says that the accident happened around 9:30 a.m. in the area of Highway 50 and Giles Road.

Authorities say a car driven by 55-year-old Melinda Armstrong drove through a red light at the intersection and was hit by 70-year-old Jerry Hoge.

Armstrong's vehicle rolled after the impact and struck a traffic signal control box.

Both drivers were taken to local hospitals. Hoge suffered minor injuries and Armstrong was transported in critical condition.

The Sarpy County Crash Response Unit responded to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
