Nebraska senator plans to introduce bill to extend NCAA player compensation decision

LINCOLN - For the first time, the NCAA has announced that college athletes can profit from the use of their names, images or likenesses.
The decision now puts the burden on collegiate divisions to determine what that really means.
One Nebraska senator wants to take it a step further with a pay to play law similar to California’s. Senator Megan Hunt wants student-athletes in Nebraska to be able to hire agents and make endorsement deals just like students will be able to in California.
Hunt said it’s not clear enough how money is to be made and she plans to introduce legislation to address that.
She said she intends to introduce her bill in January.
