OMAHA - A metro organization is rising from the ashes and is one step closer to re-opening after a fire back in 2017.

Now, almost three years later, Sons of Italy is getting ready to welcome people back in for their traditional spaghetti dinners.

A sign was put up Tuesday, signifying a new beginning for the business.

According to the Sons of Italy Nebraska website, the organization, was founded in the early 1900s to help immigrants get jobs, housing and help the newcomers' assimilation into American society.

The website says as the years progressed, the Sons of Italy directed their efforts to aiding those in need and other local causes.
