Air ambulance service donates lights, teaches helicopter courses to Nebraska fire departments

CLARKSON - Earlier this week, an air ambulance service donated some very useful tools to two Nebraska fire departments.
Midwest MedAir gave a set of landing zone safety lights each to the Clarkson and Schuyler fire departments.
They also taught a landing zone safety course to the Clarkson firefighters on Tuesday night.
Program manager Joe Roberts said it's important to help out the fire departments they work with because it can make that much of a difference when it comes to saving lives.
"A lot of times in rural Nebraska, that right place by ground is two or three hours away," Roberts said. "So if we can decrease that time out of hospital, or get them to the trauma center, or to a burn unit or a cardiac catheterization lab in a decreased amount of time, we can increase their chances of survival after these accidents.”
Roberts said they're happy to teach the landing zone course to any fire departments in the area.
