Man assaults pregnant woman near 48th and Adams
Lincoln Police have arrested an 18-year-old for reportedly assaulting two people, one of whom was pregnant.
By News Channel NebraskaLINCOLN - Lincoln Police have arrested an 18-year-old for reportedly assaulting two people, one of whom was pregnant.
Police say on Wednesday around 9 PM, officers responded to the area of 48th Street and Adams on a report of an assault.
According to police, officers found 18-year-old Josiah Meredith laying on the ground un-responsive.
Meredith later told police he drank alcohol and took drugs.
According to witnesses, Meredith was running around when he ran into a pole, ran into traffic, and assaulted a 22-year-old woman leaving a nearby business.
Police say the victim’s co-worker came to help and was also assaulted by Meredith.
He was cited and jailed for third-degree assault on a pregnant woman, third-degree assault, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace.
