LINCOLN - The Ponca and Winnebago Tribes of Nebraska will be getting new funding for their libraries.

Senator Deb Fischer announced Tuesday that the Institute of Museum and Library Services will give the two grants, both for $10,000 to support and enhance the two tribe's library services.

The IMLS is the primary source of support for the nation’s libraries and museums. Its Native American Library Services program offers basic grants, intended to support existing library operations.

Which are distributed in equal amounts to eligible Native American tribes.

The money will go to the Ponca Tribe and the Winnebago Tribe’s Little Priest Tribal College Library.
